Hi all – Just a quickie to close some loops:

My grandmother Myra died Aug 11.  She was 85, had metastasized cancer and had wanted to go since 1995, when my grandfather Pi died.  I'm doing okay – had a rough July and August, and just this week sort of turned a corner where the pain seems more distant.

I'm not attending our local today/tomorrow because of her death – there's Stuff to move, and Labor Day weekend was the first good opportunity for everyone's schedules.  A bit frustrating, because, as all of you know, I'd be in the thick of it if I could.

Gustav looks like he's going to go bother Louisiana, and we might get a bit of rain, rather like a front coming through, since we're on the messy east side, but he's not a very broad storm, so we're not putting up shutters.

All of you driving in Mississippi, though – please take sensible precautions.  Cat 1-2 are not that bad, but I'd always choose NOT to weather them in a car.  Look up the windspeeds here, and shelter.  Realize that the roads are going to be jammed with people moving around, which creates local gas shortages.  Leave early, stay informed, take lots of time.
