Why yes, I handsew most of my garb…

Yesterday I finished the new linen/cotton
blend shift – I went rather nuts with decorative flat-felling on all
the seams…red binkies *everywhere*.   It's ostensibly for under the
chestnut Tudor kirtle, though I don't think that flat-felled
embroiderish running stitch is very Tudor.  However, it looks nice, and
since I must spoil myself with beautiful underwear *always*, and am not
particularly interested in late period, that's that.  I can certainly
wear it under the teal Gothic kirtle too.  We shall see if it's any more comfortable than the all-cotton one, or the all-linen one.

The chestnut Tudor
kirtle still needs tabs on the shoulders, the rest of its facings sewn
in, and the hem finished.  And a lace.  But then it's done.  Its
partlet needs ties under the arms, and then it's done too.  After that
is a lace cap, and then I'm done, and going back to pre-1500.

Except that Roz' elevation is in Dec, and it's middle eastern, so the 16thc Persian needs finishing.

And the Guys' stuff!  I'm going to do Thomas' shirt on Project Nite
this Friday, and start basting his chausses this weekend.
Gefroi's second tunic needs a neck facing, and both need hemming.  I really
want to start Orlando's tunic soon – I want to deliver it at Gatalop,
and that's in less than a month!  Must dig out the measurement book and
cut that, maybe Thursday night.

Darn it, I'm going to have to resort
to the sewing machine.

  1. you see you are soooo going to make me cry.
the vigil is eastern; the ceremony is Roman – based on my research on the Bacchanal ceremonies.
so does this mean you are coming?????
