Run + Pell workout

Now that summer is over, temps are low enough for me to handle outdoor workouts.

I'm disgusted with how low my stamina is in armor, and this is colluding with an underlying "you really ought to be taking better care of your heart and lungs" worry.  I've figured out what my workouts should be for vanity's sake – I mix P90X with yoga, and am not terribly consistent with either one – but that is not cutting it for the performance I would like to bring to the sparring field.

So today I ran about 3K, on a road that is rather rollercoastery down, and then all the way back up again.  And then whacked the new pell for about half an hour, trying to move around, trying to always use the edge (instead of the flat) and also trying to complete my arcs.  When I couldn't raise my sword arm any more I walked around playing with the shield, standing in front of the car windows and practicing ducking behind it enough to protect my head.  That seemed to help me know that it takes a lot of ducking when you are getting used to a helm making your head taller.

Total time: about an hour huffing and puffing.  My heart feels better already.
