My friend Lavena (newest Companion of the Velvet Owl – huzzah!), just finished her Pumpkin Dress in time for Kingdom A&S. (She swears there’s a list of these dresses named after vegetables – I told her to let me know when she gets to Asparagus.) It’s actually a copy of a dress in a Lorenzo Lotto painting.
Doesn’t she look wonderful!! Here it is full length:
She says she has 70 hours in the dress. I believe it. I frequently put at least that many hours into my projects – but I don’t keep track of them. Learning to Weave suggests getting an electric clock and plugging it in when you’re working to count hours – which is a good idea, but wouldn’t work for someone who handcrafts at stoplights.
I’m not sure how I got here — oh, yeah — looking at Phoenix Glade’s web page. I’m moving to Tifton GA sometime over the next 2 months from Thor’s Mountain. That’s a gorgeous gown! Wish I could have seen it in person. Do you by any chance have a feed to LiveJournal?
