I hardly know what to file this under, but this new-to-me way of tying a ‘standard’ bow is SO much faster. When we get down to tying lots of points on pourpoints, this is the WAY TO GO.

Wow, I tried that knot and I just couldn’t get my brain around it. I use a single loop bow (not a half bow with only one string making the loop, but a single loop with both strings) for all my historical tying needs, since that’s normally what you see in period depictions. It requires longer laces, generally, but it’s very secure. For a while I was also using it for my shoes, since it hardly ever comes undone.
